Of Milwaukee, WI; passed to eternal life Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the age of 47. Dearest son of Gloria (James) Gardner and Robert (Shirley) Pivonka. Brother of Nicole Zwolinski and Michelle Pivonka. Uncle of Tanner Palkowski, Chace Lehman, Makenzie Lehman and Stella Doud. John was a professional sound engineer with a celebrated 30 plus year career in live and studio music. He began his career as one of Milwaukee’s youngest DJs at WMSE Radio Station back in the early 1990s and launched a successful DJ-ing career both on-air and through live performances that continued throughout his life. At the same time, he became a highly respected and sought after live sound engineer working alongside such bands as The Gufs, BoDeans, Ambrosia, Firefall, Orleans, Valerie June and countless other national acts. John had an incredible talent and desire for making music sound great. He was a humble man that never sought the spotlight, always content with knowing he mixed a good show and the bands he worked with were happy. He was a dear friend to many and a brother to those fortunate enough to have worked with him throughout all those years. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation Monday, April 12, 2021 at Bevsek-Verbick Funeral Home – West Allis 3PM until time of Funeral Service at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family appreciated.
