Olley, Gladys: Gladys (nee Dettwiler) passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Freeport Hospital at the age of 87. Loved mother of Sandra Stockie and Richard (Julie) Olley. Grandmother to Keith (Sintiya) Stockie, Jamie Hardman (friend Brad) and Ryan (Laura) Stockie and great-grandmother of Braden and Kailey Hardman, Charlotte and Emily Stockie, and Violet and Juliette Stockie. She is fondly remembered by sister Leeta Horst and sister-in-law Eileen (the late Carl) Boehm. Predeceased by her husband Victor, son-in-law Dave Stockie, sister Fern (Osiah) Horst, and brother-in-laws Mel Horst and Walter (Joyce) Olley. Gladys worked 38 years for Zehrs Markets before retiring in 1996 and has lived at the same address on Allen Street since 1954. She was a member of Trillium Lutheran Church, Waterloo and will be remembered by members of the church, neighbours, friends and co-workers. Respecting Mom's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467. Thank you to LHINS and staff at Freeport Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassionate care for Mom.
