Nikki K. Flanagan, 45, of Maple Grove MN, lost her courageous battle with cancer in her husband’s arms at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020.
She was born March 16, 1975 in Seoul South Korea, adopted by Gary and Alice Stiller of Zumbrota MN. She was united in marriage to Joe Flanagan, on Jan 12, 2019 in Plymouth MN and resided in Maple Grove MN.
She attended Martin Luther Preparatory School in WI. She then attended the University of Alaska Anchorage, graduating with a degree in Management Information Technology and Minor in Math.
While attending the University of Alaska Anchorage, she worked for Arco Alaska, Inc as a rare female in the world of Information Technology for that time. She then moved to AZ and worked for Sanmina as an Oracle Programmer Analyst. Moving back to MN, she worked for Traust Consulting before joining Valspar (now Sherwin Williams) where she has been employed for over 16 years as an IT Programmer Analyst.
She loved her family and friends with all her heart, her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews being especially special to her. Spending time with them was one of her greatest joys. They meant the world to her.
An avid golfer, she was a board member of the MN Women’s PGA. She loved golfing, laughing, and “commenting” on others’ golfing abilities very freely. Precious walks along the lake, making gifts with her Cricut machine, gardening and giving away the plants or produce and making jewelry for gifts filled her time along with several other interests and hobbies.
Nikki was a shining light to many, she would win you over with her personality, smile, and warmth. Her selflessness and generosity towards others, even during extraordinarily difficult times, showed her immense courage and big heart. Her fighting spirit, unbreakable resilience, and positive attitude was admired greatly. Her faith was her foundation and her source of hope.
