Linda L. Weddle

Linda Massey Weddle, resident of Aurora, IL, died on November 19, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. Linda is survived by her daughter Kelli (Steve) Wick, son Jeff (Cindy) Weddle; six grandchildren: Chloe, Belinda, Elizabeth, Mallory, Jacob, and Carter; her brother Roger (Sally) Massey and her nieces, Beth, Lindy (Dahl) and Heather (Weddle) Hanson. Linda is predeceased by her husband Kenneth. Linda was born in Warsaw, New York, on February 25, 1948 to Craig and Louise Massey. She studied Christian Education at Moody Bible Institute. It was there she met Ken Weddle, and they were married on June 28, 1969. From a very early age, Linda’s desire was to be a pastor’s wife, and Ken’s desire was to become a pastor. Over the next 30 plus years, they served together in churches in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Linda pursued a lifelong-ministry of teaching and writing about biblical truths, writing 14 books and thousands of articles and short stories. She loved working with children and taught in a pre-school, at summer camps, in Awana clubs at several churches, and Sunday Schools. For 25 years, Linda enjoyed her full-time work at Awana Clubs International, where she was a Senior Writer writing curriculum. She traveled to many conferences all over the U.S. speaking to leaders on how to teach children. Linda enjoyed traveling to see new places and try new foods. She was particularly interested in the wives of U.S. Presidents and had an extensive collection of books and other items on the subject. Linda also enjoyed photography and writing a blog. She also loved her dog Abby for reasons that weren’t entirely clear to the rest of the family.
