Jimmie graduated from Riverside High School in Northport, Alabama, in 1958. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1962, and on December 16, 1962, he married Lizzie Mae Foster, the love of his life. Jimmie retired in 1992 to settle in Mobile, Alabama. After retiring from his military service, Jimmie was employed with Buffalo Rock Company, the City of Mobile, and the Mobile County Public School System, upon which he achieved a second retirement. Jimmie was also a Master Mason (PHA), and a member of the Original Dragons, Incorporated. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Spencer Lewis Jr., Leroy Lewis, Archie Lewis, Oliver Lewis, and Ralph Lewis. Jimmie leaves to celebrate his life and memory, his cherished wife, Liz Lewis; his children, Jynda (Mario) Frundt, Clayton (Gwendolyn) Lewis, and Jimmy (Christy) Lewis; his siblings, Spencer Lewis, Charlie Lewis, Dorothy Williams, Louise Mills, Berniece Brown, Johnnie Burton, Frankie Murphy, Willie (Mereather) Lewis, and Elbert Lewis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patricia Lewis, Sylvia Lewis, Willis Foster, Pinkie Tucker, Jenella (Charles) Prewitt, and Claude Foster; grandchildren, Leavy Burns, Olivia (Ezekiel) Rodriquez, Sergeant Thomas Lewis (United States Army), Spencer Lewis, Ryan Lewis, Etta Lewis, and Reese Lewis; six great-grandchildren; godchildren, Kim Smith-Lott, Aletha Cook, Zellous Cook, and Wisteria Thompson; beloved brother-friend James (Margie) Finley; special friends, Myrtle Smith, Ed Williams, Robert Lewis, Arthur (Pon) Johnson, Mark (Rosalyn) Culver, James (Joann) Mitchell, and Robert (Linda) Crenshaw; and an abundance of relatives and friends.
