Gordon Ray White, 93, a lifelong resident of Morocco, Indiana passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. He was born in Morocco on April 3, 1927, the son of Paul White and Gretta (Roadruck) White. He was a 1945 graduate of Morocco High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947. On September 13, 1947, in Morocco, he married Betty Zoborosky. She preceded him in death in 1982.
Gordon was a bread truck driver. He drove trucks for Conrad Bakery, Tip-Top Bakery and Butternut Bakery. He was a member of the United Church of Morocco and American Legion Post 146. When he was younger, he loved to play golf. Gordon was a huge sports fan and enjoyed reading, listening to music, and watching movies.
His family was what Gordon cherished most in life. He loved spending time with them, and always did his best to attend his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and extracurricular activities. He was a very selfless man and would do whatever he could to help others.
He is survived by his two children, Judy (Ron) Styck and Terry White, and one sister, Nelda Kay Lecuyer. Eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; two brothers, Gary and James; and one sister, Marilyn.
Due to the pandemic, private graveside services with military honors will be held at Oakland Cemetery on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Pastor Patrick Gutwein officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Morocco Library or American Legion Post 146.
