Dolores Marie Randazzo

Dolores Marie Randazzo of Four Seasons at Wall passed away on November 18, 2020 at the age of 85. She was born in Jersey City to Margaret and Joseph Deacy. Dolores identified herself as a "simple housewife" but her family, friends, colleagues, and competitors would say she was much more. As a bright young girl, Dolores won a four year scholarship to St. Dominic's Academy High School with the highest scores in the history of the scholarship. Due to family circumstances, she was unable to attend college and started a career with Chase Bank in Manhattan after high school. Her banking career plan took a different direction when she met Executive Trainee Tony Randazzo, The "handsome fellow with blue eyes." Dolores and Tony were married on her birthday, April 19, 1958 and the rest is their beautiful history. They raised six children in Sea Girt where they lived for 31 years before moving to Four Seasons. In addition to her intelligence, Dolores was a woman of faith, determination, loyalty and wit. She loved good books, 60's and 70's music, and watching sports: tennis, golf, The New York Giants and the New York Metropolitans. For more than 20 years she met weekly with a Book Club that started with the Great Books, sharing insights and friendships. She was also known to recommend her favorite genre, British mystery novels, to anyone who would ask. When she put her mind to something, Dolores was fearless. She took up running in her 40's and finished the New York City Marathon six times. Through the years that followed, she continued to meet almost daily on the Spring Lake boardwalk with her running friends, first to run, then to walk, and more recently just for coffee. With her keen mind and wit, Dolores could make her point in a few precise words and would not hesitate to speak up in defense of justice, the marginalized and ethical behavior. Dolores is survived by her husband Anthony P. Randazzo, Jr., her children Anthony III and Virna of Wall, Christopher of Manasquan, Michael and Maureen of Brooklyn, Matthew of Manhattan, Paul and Karen of Catonsville, MD, Margaret of Tarrytown,NY and thirteen grandchildren: Katie, Christopher, Meghan, Timothy, Will, Andrew, Garner, Genevieve, Owen, Ben, Tori, Randy and Teddy. Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 4 pm - 8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am on Friday, December 4, 2020 at St. Mark's Church, 215 Crescent Parkway, Sea Girt, NJ 08750.
