Shirley A. Teetzen, age 83 of Shawano, passed away Monday evening, November 16, 2020 in Shawano following a brief illness.
Shirley was born October 4, 1937 in Clintonville, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Fred and Viola (Kersten) Riege. She attended country school, and later Marion High School where she graduated with the class of 1955. Following high school she was employed at Montgomery Ward in Shawano. On March 2, 1957, Shirley was united in marriage to Alfred R. Teetzen at St. John Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The couple lived in Shawano for most of their married life.
Shirley was a good and faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. She was employed as a cashier at the Shawano Super Value Store then at Wal-Mart where she worked for nearly 13 years. She liked to knit, cook, and bake. She was an excellent cook.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Alfred, of Shawano; her daughter, Toni (Wes) Bucholz of Shawano; her son, Alan (Patricia) Teetzen of Wausau; her favorite granddaughter, Melissa (Dylan) Seefeldt, and her grandchildren, Patrick (Keturah) Teetzen, Danielle (JD) Beall, Samantha Teetzen, Amanda (Kegen) Parnell, and Jarod Bucholz; great-grandchildren, Jacob Beall, Andromeda and Kharma Seefeldt, Maggie Teetzen, Liam and Tyler Gibbs, Jaylen Kensley and Harper Parnell; two brothers-in-law, Marlyn Teetzen and Dr. Merle Teetzen; and three sisters-in-law, Ruth Korth, Carol Teetzen, and Shirley Teetzen; her special cousin, Carole Krueger; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Curtis Teetzen, Willis Teetzen, and Irv Korth; and sister-in-law, Kathy Teetzen.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, private family services for Shirley Teetzen will be held. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the Shawano County Humane Society or Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano.
