William K. Walker

William K. “Bill” Walker, a well-known and beloved member of the community, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, November 14, 2020. Bill was 58 years old. He is survived by his two children and their spouses – Karina (Walker) Nwoko and husband, Julian and Blake Walker and wife, Amanda; his beloved grandson, Paxton Walker; siblings, James “Jim” Broadwater and wife, Donna, Pamela “Pam” Adams and husband, Mel, Suzi Barth and husband, Mike, and younger brother, Timothy “Tim” Walker and significant other, Amy Blough; his father, William H. “Bim” Walker, of Salisbury, PA; and his girlfriend, Natasa Paunovic. He is preceded in death by his mother, Matilda J. Walker, of Salisbury, PA. Bill was born on April 29, 1962 in Meyersdale, PA. He grew up in Salisbury, PA and attended WVU and Frostburg State University. Bill was the Assistant Director of Family Investment Administration for the Allegany Co. Md. Department of Social Services. Those that knew Bill know that it is nearly impossible to sum up his life in an obituary. He was well known throughout Frostburg, Cumberland, and Salisbury as an outgoing, quick-witted, and fun-loving individual who you could always count on for a laugh and a good conversation. He was a proud member of the Frostburg Elks Lodge and loved visiting restaurants and attending events in his hometown of Frostburg – particularly the Hooley and Shamrock Shuffles as his favorite Holiday was St. Patrick’s Day. While Bill lived a great life during which he enjoyed many activities and picked up many hobbies, his most recent and most passionate sources of love and enjoyment included spending time with his two Jack Russell Terriers – Bella and Pilsner; biking and walking on the Great Allegheny Passage trail near his home; talking with his brothers and sisters, Jim, Tim, Pam, and Sue; visiting his Dad on Sundays to go to the Salisbury Legion; enjoying phone conversations with his daughter, and golfing at Winnfield Golf Course – especially with his son and 2-year-old grandson. Bill was also a very spiritual man, who always kept an open Bible on his kitchen table. At the time of his death, Bill had recently been reading from the Book of John 8:54 in which Jesus says: “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.” Bill was never one to glorify himself over anyone else. While outgoing and personable, he remained humble and approachable. He loved his family and friends dearly and always enjoyed the company of others. He will be greatly missed by all. Private visitation will be held for Bill at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury. Private services and interment will take place in the Salisbury Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, we respectfully request those in attendance, please use masks and honor social distancing.
