Henry Moore Fisher was born on October 9, 1930 to the union of Rozettie and Joseph Fisher in West, Mississippi. He moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1947. Henry was married to Alice Marie Fisher for 54 years.
Henry was known by many as Hank, Daddy, Papa, Granddad, Uncle and King. He was a member of The Toledo Travelers Van Club and Toledo Travelers Bowling League. He loved to bowl, garden, fish, camp, and listen to the Blues. Henry was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians. He always had a baseball game on the TV or radio. He sponsored and pitched on a men's softball team. Many of his relatives and friends played on the team. He had brand new Cadillacs every year from 1960 until 1973. He could often be found in the kitchen cooking a "Henry" creation or good ole soul food. He was an entrepreneur for the past 67 years, retiring from Fisher Tire and Battery. Henry ran businesses that provided services for many people. His business physiology was "Do Good Work."
In 1995 the City of Toledo awarded him a Proclamation for his many years as an entrepreneur. In 2015 he received special recognition from Mrs. Obama on his 85th birthday. He was honored by The African American Legacy Project in 2016. He looked forward to going back to Mississippi whenever he could. Henry loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rozettie, father, Joseph Fisher, 5 brothers, John Wesley, Augustus (A.G.), Charles, J. D., Joe Willie; 4 sisters, Annie Dell Miller, Hanna Bell Hearn, Millie Nalls and Louise Johnson; 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Marie Fisher; his brother, Mac Fisher; his children, Henrietta Mister Fisher, Jeffrey Fisher (Cheryl), George (Rusty) Smith (Beatrice), Jackie Fisher-Sellers, Marvin (Tank) Daniels and Reggie Colbert. Bonus children, Juanita Morris (Mike) and Sherri Walker (Dwayne). 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 9 great, great grandchildren, and special nephew, Edsel Fisher.
