GRAY, Hilda L. – of Birch Run, age 80, died peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2020 with family by her side, at Hospice House of Shiawassee County. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 10AM until 1PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Graveside service to follow in Birch Run Township Cemetery. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Hilda was born August 26, 1940 in Arbela Township, Michigan to the late Roy and Beatrice (Adams) Hunt. She married the love of her life, Jim Gray on October 4, 1958. They would have celebrated 62 years together. Hilda graduated from Saginaw Beauty College, and had a beauty shop out of her home for 30 years. She also worked at the family apple orchard and Christmas tree farm. Hilda enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, sewing, animals, and crafting. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Surviving are: Husband, Jim Gray; Daughters: Deborah (David) Thrasher, Tammy (Eric) Hill, and Josie (Tom) Vanderport; Grandchildren: Kristina (Sheri) White-Hill, Taylor Vanderport, and Derek Vanderport; Great grandchildren: Chase Yaklin, and Alexis Yaklin; Sisters: Margaret (Eugene) Gray, and Beulah Burns; several nieces, nephews other loving family members and dear friends. Hilda was also preceded in death by: Grandsons: Larry Yaklin II, and Andrew James Hill in 2003, and many siblings. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice House of Shiawassee County for their extraordinary care of our loved one.
