Karen Restivo Pruitt
Karen Elaine Pruitt, age 73, of Temple passed from this life during the morning hours of Friday, March 27, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Bryan, Texas on the 13th day of January 1947, Karen was the daughter of Samuel and Nadine (Dodds) Restivo.<br><br>Karen grew up in the Bryan area. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan and would go on to attend business school in Houston. She married Norman Pruitt in Caldwell, Texas on October 16, 1970. The newlywed couple would set out to build a home and raise a family together that would eventually include 2 sons and 1 daughter. Karen worked for Leon Heights Elementary School for over 10 years as a special education teacher then would spend 15 years at Dillard’s Department Store until her retirement. She loved to dance, make arts and crafts and taking evening walks. Above all she loved her family and life; she loved spending time with her children and grandchild, and she loved holidays with all the family spending time together. Karen was a devout Catholic and knew of her eternal reward in heaven when her time here was complete. Karen has lived in Bell County since 1985.<br><br>She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother James Restivo and 1 sister-in-law Lena Restivo.<br><br>Karen leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Norman Pruitt of Temple, sons Samuel Pace Pruitt and Gene Pruitt both of Austin and her daughter Adina Pruitt-Lozano of Dallas. She also leaves her granddaughter Justice McKenzie and several brothers and sisters.<br><br>A private family service and burial will be held later in the week. She will be buried at Wilson Valley Cemetery in Little River - Academy.<br><br>Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements. <br><br>January 13, 1947 - March 27, 202001/13/194703/27/2020
