Cecil Wade Clem, Sr. 86, of Elkmont,AL died Sunday, March 22, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born Friday, May 6, 1933 in Limestone County, AL, he was the son of Walter Clem and Eula Mae Gaines Clem. He lived here all his life. Cecil was a member of the Holland's Gin Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening and loved to cut his yard. Cecil loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his wife of 62 joyful years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Moore; brother, Jerome Clem. Cecil is survived by his wife, Helen Clem, Elkmont, AL; son, Wade (Dana) Clem, Elkmont, AL; daughter, Melody (Bud) Simmons, Athens, AL; grandchildren, Heather (Jordan) Lovell, Franklin Simmons, Davis Simmons, Matthew Clem, Laura Joy Simmons; great-granchildren, Rylee Lovell and Aidan Lovell; and several nieces and nephews. A Private Family Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama A funeral procession will leave at 1:45pm any friends may follow the escort to the cemetery but all friends must remain in your cars at the funeral home and cemetery, due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and current state rules. A 2:00 P.M. Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, AL with Bro. Kasey Harbin officiating. Pallbearers will be Franklin Simmons, Davis Simmons, Matthew Clem, Aidan Lovell, Ricky Moore, Donnie Pittman, and Jeff Wales. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
