John C. Evans, 68, of Colorado Springs, passed away on March 18, 2020. He was born on August 4th, 1951 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He was born to the union of Lloyd and Elizabeth Evans. He lived in Colorado Springs for 42 years, spending his childhood and his youth in the State of Pennsylvania. John was married to Ms. Genevieve Evans. They got married in September 18th, 2007 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. John and Genevieve were married for 12 years. He considered Genevieve the love of his life and she meant the world to him. Mr. Evans constantly praised his wife for her cooking. Often he stated, “She can use her sense of creativity and resourcefulness in the kitchen”.
Mr. Evans was a very special gentleman. He was an avid sports fan. John enjoyed football and his favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved to travel. John’s favorites were mountains in Colorado and the beaches in California. Mr. Evans was well loved by every person he met in his lifetime. John never met a stranger. He was gregarious, was not shy, talked easily to anyone and got to know new people easily. He will be truly missed.
John is preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Evans and his parents, Lloyd and Elizabeth.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his lovely wife, Genevieve Evans of Colorado Springs; his stepdaughter and friend, Carla Howlett of Colorado Springs; his son in law and friend, Brian Howlett of Colorado Springs; his grandson; Nathan Howlett of Colorado Springs; his sister and brother in law, Malinda and Brian Pierce of 84, Pennsylvania; his two brothers, Thomas Evans of Mocksville, Louisiana and Roy Evans of Guam; his sister, Jennifer Million of ST. Pawley’s Island, South Carolina; his parents in law, Carlos and Erlinda Espinoza of Colorado Springs and a host of many special friends.
His private viewing will be held on March 24th, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors located at 1104 S. Circle Drive. From 1:00 to 1:30 pm viewing will be open to friends only and the rest of the time will be for family members.
