<p>Lurena Virginia Baker, 95, of Van Buren, Arkansas, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away on Wednesday, May 22. 2014 in a local nursing home. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Walter and Ruth Hyland. She was retired from the housekeeping department of St. Edward Mercy Medical Center. Following retirement she was the housekeeper for the rectory of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Fort Smith and Full Gospel of Moffett and in her later years attended the Glad Tidings Church. </p><p>She is survived by her daughter. Donna Shepherd of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three sons, Jim Baker of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Robert and Richard Baker both of Mulberry, Arkansas; one sister, Blanche Reynolds of Omaha, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. </p><p>Funeral services are 10am Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Barling City Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas. </p><p>Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. </p><p>The family will visit with friends from 2-4 on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the funeral home. </p><p><br></p>
