<p>David R. Conerd, 70, of Evansdale, IA died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, IA. </p><p><br></p><p>David was born on November 5, 1946 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Earl E. and Neva I. (Murphy) Conerd. Shortly after his birth his family moved to California, where he attended Greenwood Elementary School, and Antelope High School both in Palmdale, CA. In the late 1950’s the family moved back to Iowa and for a short time where he attended Independence High School in Independence, IA. David was self employed entrepreneur hanging sheet rock in the construction industry and affiliated with Peterson Bros. Construction on and off throughout the years. He made his home in Evansdale, IA, where he met and married his wife, Christine M. Wharff, on July 10, 2016.</p><p><br></p><p>He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and baseball. He liked to keep busy with his hands so he added clock making, drawing, and painting to his list of many talents.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife of Christine Conerd, Evansdale, IA; two daughters Samantha Hempstead, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Amber Caner, Jesup, IA; two grandchildren; two sisters Norma O’Donnel, Prestcott, AZ, and Nancy Henly, Salem OR; two brothers Earl Conerd, Quasqueton, IA and Daniel Conerd, Independence, IA.</p><p><br></p><p>David was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Richard and James Conerd, and three sisters Geraldine McCraney, Sherly McCord, and Jean Timmerman</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA.
