Sarah Reidy Oberst, née Reidy, 67, of Beverly died April 7, 2022. Visitation will be held April 10, from 3:00-8:00 pm at Curley Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held April 11 at 1 pm at Saint Barnabas Catholic Church. She is survived by her devoted husband Eugene (Gene); her loving children Mary Margaret (Maggie) and Michael Terrence (Mick); her faithful sisters Cathy (Bill) Ragen, the late Peggy (Mike) Taffe, Mary (the late Jim) Lynch, of Chicago; her dear brothers Jim (Barb) of Waterloo, IA, Michael (Cheryl) Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Bob (Chris), Terry (Cherie) both of St. Paul, Minn. and Pat (Karen) of Dubuque, IA., her many loyal nieces and nephews, adoring grand nieces and nephews as well as treasured friends. 

Sarah was born June 10, 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa, to James and Margaret Reidy. She was a graduate of Loras College of 1976, then moved to Chicago. First to Arlington Heights, where she worked at the Arlington Heights Race Track, then downtown, where she worked for the Chicago Board Options Exchange then on to the Board of Trade where she and Gene met. In 1996, they made their home in Beverly where they raised their beautiful family. Sarah found a new calling in education when she worked at LaSalle ll. Sarah found beauty and joy in things big and small – her book club meetings, traveling, the Grant Park concert series at Millennium Park, singing with her siblings, and camping with her family. Many years of traveling Sarah had a great appreciation for the magnificence of the sunrise. She will be deeply missed for her intellect, warmth, and her ability to see joyfulness all around.
