Elizabeth Jackson, age 67, of Bradley Beach, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021. Born February 14, 1954 to the late John and Isabel Jackson in Newark, New Jersey. Elizabeth graduated from East Side High School in Newark, and received both a B.A. and M.A. in Education from Jersey City State College. She began her teaching endeavors in the Hillside School District as a bilingual elementary teacher, but spent the majority of her career in the Newark Public School District, beginning as chairperson of the bilingual department at her alma mater, East Side High School, continuing on as a culinary supervisor at Newark Vocational High School, and finishing her career at West Kinney Alternative High School until retirement in 2005. Elizabeth was a patron of multiple charities and programs, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Wounded Warriors Project, and CASA of New Jersey, and enjoyed crafting and spending time with her loved ones. She is survived by her loving husband William Oliveira of Bradley Beach, sister Carol Iachio of Hillside, niece Lauren Hild and her husband Paul, nieces Jacqueline and Christina Iachio, nephew Rocco Barbella, grandniece Amanda Iachio, several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, and in-laws Tony Oliveira, Marie Spreen, and Rose Lodato. Friends and family are invited to view from 4 to 8pm on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Ely Funeral Home in Neptune. A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the St. Teresa of Calcutta located in Bradley Beach, NJ, followed by the internment in St. Anne Cemetery in Wall Township. In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Elizabeth Jackson.
